DOD: Sunday, 10 June 1956 Ionia Sentinel Standard – Monday, 11 June 1956 Fred E. Johnson, 65, vice president and general manager of the Lake Odessa Machine Products, died unexpectedly at his home in Lake Odessa, Sunday afternoon, June 10. He had been in ill health for several years. Born November 30, 1890 at Rockford, Ind., he was the son of William and Mary Johnson coming to Lake Odessa April 1, 1946 from Greenville, when he became associated with business here. Previously, he had been affiliated with the Federal-Mogul plant at Greenville, for about 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Fort Wayne. Surviving are his wife, Wilma, one sister, Mrs. Marion Raber of Bluffton, Ind., and one brother, James of California. Friends are being received at the Pickens funeral chapel where services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock, with the Rev. A. J. Pitman officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the South Scott cemetery, Angola, Ind.
