The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 7, 1929

Mrs. A. Johnson, pioneer of Lake Odessa, was found dead in bed Friday morning 
by her son, Royal.  She was as well as usual and had entertained company the 
evening before.  She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Thomas, 
Royal, and Frank Johnson, of Lake Odessa; Mrs. VonFurnis, of Nashville, Miss 
Alta Johnson, of Spokane, Wash., and Miss Gail Johnson a student in the 
Columbia university.
