The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 21, 1929

Samuel Whitney Johnson, who had resided most of his life in the vicinity of 
Orleans, passed away at his farm shortly after noon Sunday from the effects of 
a stroke of apoplexy suffered three weeks ago.  About a month ago he and his 
widow moved back to their farm after residing for some time on Bliss street in 
this city.

He leaves only his wife.  Funeral services will be held from the home 
Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock fast time.  Interment will be made in 
Orleans cemetery.
