Ionia Sentinel Standard - 28 Sept 1979
Charles F. Johnson, 95, of 1226 West Ellis Ave., Belding, died Thursday at his 
home.  He was born Aug. 4, 1884 in Lyons.  

Survivors include his wife, Marie; five daughters, Mrs. Winn (Mary) Hackett of 
Onsted, Mrs. John (Barbara) Griffiths of Belding, Mrs. Marjorie Stine of 
Dundee, N.Y., Mrs. Lester(Joan) Garland of Belding, Mrs. Bruce (Catherine) 
Higbee of Ionia; three sons, Leslie of Greenville, Kenneth of Orleans, Paul of 
Cadillac, two step-sons, Alvin Townsend of Grand Rapids, Robert Townsend of 
Orleans; one step-daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Dyer of Lyons; 28 
grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 pm at the Huffman Funeral home in 
Belding with the Rev. Chester Tanase officiating.  Burial will be in the 
Orleans Cemetery.  Visitation will be on today and Saturday from 7 - 8:30 pm
