Johnson, 72, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso. He was born March 24, 1923, in Lyons, the son of Charles and Amelia (Mills) Johnson. He graduated from Ionia High School in 1941. He married Norma Higbee, who preceded him in death in 1991, then he married Kathleen McCreadie, in Ovid, on Nov. 9, 1991. He lived most of his life in the Cadillac, Ovid and Owosso areas. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Owosso. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WW II. He was employed for Mitchell Corp. until retiring in 1988. He was manager of Engineering Records and Specifications in Owosso for 23 years, then for 12 years was a manager of materials testing in Cadillac. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; four sons: Randy (Peggi) Johnson, of Cutler, Ind.; Scott, Michael and Daniel McCreadie, all of Owosso; two daughters: Dee Matteson, of Holt; April McCreadie, of Owosso; two brothers: Leslie Johnson, of Greenville; Kenneth Johnson, of Orleans; four sisters: Marjorie Stein, of New York; Mary Hackett, of Mich.; Joan Garland, of Belding and Katherine Higbee, of Ionia. He was preceded in death by one sister. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 24, 1995, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, in Owosso. The Rev. Randy Terrill will officiate. Burial will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery in Ionia. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Houghton Chapel-Osgood Funeral Home in Ovid. Memorials may be made to the Building fund at Calvary Baptist Church.
