Bill was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Roylston Township, Tuscola County, the son of Claude and Mable Robinson Johnson. Bill was employed for 43 years as a track foreman on the railroad. After retirement he enjoyed mowing lawns in the community and having tea at the coffee shops. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and earning the Korean Service Metal and the Bronze Star. Bill was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4406 in Belding, serving four terms as commander, and also was a member of the American Legion Post 203 in Belding. He was preceded in death by his wives, Opal, Barbara and Anne Louise; his daughters, Sally May, Martha Jane and Catherine; son, John; grandson, Michael Senn; his brothers, Jack, Daniel and Harry; and sister, Betty New. Bill will be sadly missed by his daughters, Linda and Edward Senn of Stanton, Joanne and Marcus Harman of Bethany, Okla., Carol and John Brickner of Tiffin, Ohio, Mary Lou and Douglas Himebaugh of Fruitport, son-in-law, James Dickey of Arley, Ala.; his grandchildren, Jason (Joanna) and John (Jennifer) Senn, Marcus, Jeremiah and Sam Harman, John (Kari) Justin and Joseph Brickner, Eric Himebaugh, Anna Maria, James Jr. (Kristine), William Dickey; five great-grandchildren, Karter, Clay, Evan, Kendall and Griffin Senn; his brothers, Norman (Linda) Johnson and Marvin Johnson; sister, Shirley Lester; sister-in-law, Wanda Johnson; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Sara (most beautiful old dog). Funeral services with military honors will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Interment with graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. at Marlette Cemetery in Marlette. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartlands Hospice Memorial Fund.
