Irene Johnson, 76, of Belding, died Tuesday evening, December 2, 2003 at United 
Memorial Health Center, Greenville.  She was born July 26, 1927 in Ingham 
County, the daughter of John and Rachael Atherton Scarborough.  

Irene was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Place, in 1956; her 
second husband, Carroll Johnson, in 1989; her parents; and sister, Eileen Luce.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Enterline of Sidney, Gerald Place of 
Belding, Terry and Luella Johnson of Harrison; five grandchildren and one great-
grandchild; and sisters, Joyce Fletcher of Boynton Beach, Florida, Janet and 
Vern Sigourney of Westland.

Funeral and committal services are 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral 
Home, Belding, with Pastor Tony Alexander of Cornerstone Baptist Church 
officiating.  Interment is in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Dimondale.  Visitation is 
one hour prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be given to the 
American Cancer Society.
