The funeral services were held at the Orleans M.E. church Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. Gibbs. ----------------- Orleans-Otisco - Andrew D. Johnson, an old and highly respected citizen, died at his home in Orleans, Saturday morning. He was born in Perry township N.Y., April 9, 1828, and afterwards moved with his parents to Otisco and afterwards moved with his parents to Ohio and afterwards came to Michigan and lumbered near Muskegon. At the age of 23 he was married and five children were born to them: John, Early, Charles and Mrs. John Clark, all living, and Ben, who died four years ago. At marriage he located on the farm he owns which he bought from the government and carved a home out of the forest. Two of his brothers, Robert Harmon of Greenville, and James of Grand Ledge, were present at the funeral. Monday Mr. Johnson was out clearing a piece of new ground but was not feeling well, and Friday ate dinner with his wife and brother, R.P. Johnson. He has suffered from the asthma for thirty years and consumption two years. The funeral services were held at the Orleans M.E. church, Rev. Gibbs officiating. He leaves a bereaved wife and four children and a community of warm friends.
