Eleonore Johnson, 79, of Ionia, passed away at Spectrum Hospital in Grand 
Rapids on Sunday, March 23, 2003.

She was born Eleonore Keller in Heidelberg, Germany on January 16, 1924.  She 
has made her home in the U.S. since 1952.  Eleonore was a person of great 
strength and integrity and was a positive influence on many lives.  She 
enjoyed traveling, her bridge club, garden club and wonderful food.

Eleonore raised four children, Christine (Jim) Banhagel, Corrine (Chuck) 
Sotzin, Kathleen (Gary) Klingbeil, and Harry (Angela) Johnson.

Her six grandchildren were the joy of her life.  They are David and Cara 
Banhagel, Charlie Sotzin, Jessica, Celeste and Jared Johnson. 

Her sisters include Irm Ortlinghaus, Renate Conrad, Thilde Bautista and Heidi 
Boley.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Martha Keller, Jane 
Schwiegershausen and Irene Kormendy.

It was Eleonore’s wish to have her remains donated to Michigan State 
University’s Medical Science Department.  There will be no visitation.  
Memorial contributions may be made to Holland Home Hospice, 2100 Raybrook SE, 
Grand Rapids, MI  49506.
