Sentinel-Std. - Thursday, May 10, 1984

IONIA- Eliza J. Johnson, 96, of the Ionia Manor, died May 8 at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Bowne Township, Kent County, on June 10, 1887, to Robert and 
Elizabeth Miller Woods.

She was a member of the Saranac Community Church, the Rebekah Lodge and Past 
Noble Grand.

She married Amol Johnson on December 24, 1904. He preceded her in death on 
April 6, 1954.

Surviving are three daughters, Crystal Mansfield, Saranac, Mrs. Alfred (Thelma) 
Conkright, Kentwood, and Mrs. Anthony (Vada) Gagnow, Saranac; one son, Leon 
Paul,  preceded her in death on May 11, 1967; two brothers and three sisters 
preceded her in death, also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 28 great 
grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Saranac Community 
Church with Rev. Edwin Mendenhall officiating.

Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.

The family will be at the lake Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 
8:30 p.m.
