Jesse E. Johnson, son of Mr and Mrs A.B.Johnson pioneers of Odessa township, was born on Dec.1,1874 on the farm west of Lake Odessa, before there was such a town. He graduated from Lake Odessa high school and moved with his parents to Greenville where he took further studies before going to Ann Arbor. In 1900 he married Mabel Greene of Greenville. In 1923 they moved to Flint, and in 1932 decided to go to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. in 1947 he came to Michigan to live with his sister Mabel, (Mrs.George E.Gullen) in Detroit, his wife having passed on in 1940. On October 28, 1950 he passed away and is laid to rest beside his wife in Oakview cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan. Mr and Mrs Lee Culver and Mrs Hattie Allen of Sunfield are cousins.
