May 18, 1988 WILLARD E.JOHNSON MUIR-Willard E.Johnson, 69, of 1093 Hayden Road, Muir, died May 16 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 8, 1919, in Duluth,Minn., the son of Anton and Florence Johnson. He was married to Ada Bennett August 7, 1955, in Muir. Johnson was a staff sergeant and served 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. He also served in WW II and the Korean War. Johnson retired in 1979 from the City of Detroit as a bus mechanic.He them moved to Muir in 1979, where he attended the First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Vernon of Detroit and John of California; two daughters,Linda Nelson of Westland and Cora Arutoff of Muir; one brother, Vern of Parson,Kansas; two sisters, Lil Gill of Detroit and Fran Bradley of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be May 22, 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Muir, with the RevSteven Klink officiating .Burial will be in Muir Cemetery. A Memorial fund will be established by the family, with arrangements by Hull memorial Chapel of Muir. There will be no calling or visitation until service time. Additional Comments: Muir Cem.
