                                 G. EDGAR JOHNSON

G. Edgar Johnson, 80, died Tuesday at his home on route two Sunfield highway in 
Orange township was a resident of Ionia township many years and had lived at his 
present home two and one-half years.

Born September 16, 1883 in Sebewa Township, he was the son of James and Emma 
Johnson.

Mr.Johnson served as director of Gorham school district 21 years and was 
treasurer of Ionia township one term. He was formerly employed at Hales Mill and 
Stout elevator, and was Sexton of Tuttle Cemetery 20 years.

He was a member of Sebewa Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Dora L.Peacock Johnson to whom he was married in 
1903; two daughters, Mrs.Lawrence Reeder of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren; 12 
great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs.Mabel Davis of Lansing, and a brother, Ernest 
Johnson of Charlotte.

Two sons preceded him in death, Vernon who died in infancy and Coral, who died 
in 1933.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Stone-Kaufman Funeral Home 
with burial at Tuttle Cemetery.
