He was graciously received by his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 22, 2008. Mart retired from Fisher Body #2 in 1980 and was an active member of the First United Methodist church (UMC) of Lowell. After retirement, he and Treva enjoyed traveling in recreational vehicles across the country visiting friends and family For a number of years they wintered in Sarasota,Fla. Mart served his country in Europe during WWII and was a member of the American Legion in Lowell. As an avid craftsman, he enjoyed wood working and with his photography, he supported his wife's passion for genealogy. His loving wife of 66 years preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2009. He was surrounded by several family members and the wonderful staff of Tidewell (Hospice) House, Ellenton, Fla. He is survived by his children, Randy (Ruth) Johnson of Avon,Ind.; Sharyl Seese of Seward, Alaska Pat Lowery-Kligler of Bradenton, Fla.; Yvonne (Roger) Wolfe of Tavares, Fla.; Keith (Beth) Johnson of Lowell; Jaclyn Ashla of Gorham, Maine; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Mildred Earl; Kay (Bud) Alicki and Betty (Roger) Johnson; sister-in-law Erma Johnson and foster brother-in-l Gus (Donna) Karsten. Mart and Treva cremated remains will be interned at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.As those who knew mart and Treva, no one could think of one without the other therefore; we invite you to gather amongst yourselves for the sharing and celebrating of their lives.The Memorial Service honoring both Treva and Mart, on April 9th of this year, at the Lowell First United Methodist Church will remain as the tribute for their family and friends. We sincerely appreciate all the prayers and concern received from family members and friends during this difficult time. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Hospice House, the First UMC of Lowell or a favorite charity of your choosing.
