September 9, 2023 Lois Louise Johnson Lois Louise Johnson, age92, of Hasting's, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday Sept. 3, 2023 at Marshall Nursing & Rehabilitation. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday Sept. 20, 2023 at Factoryville Bible Church, 33650 Factoryville Rd, Athens, MI 49011 with pastors Bill Gehm and Krag Johnson officiating. She will be interred privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Lois was born February 25, 1931 in Ionia, MI to Claude and Beula (Faylor) Otto. She graduated from ionia High School in 1948, the attended the Grand Rapids School of Bible & Music, from which she graduated in 1951.Lois later attended Spring Arbor College and earned a bachelor's degree in education in 1968. In March of 1953 she married Merritt Johnson in Angola, IN. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2023. Lois was strong-willed and it helped her succeed at anything she set out to accomplish.She was an elementary school teacher for Colon Community Schools and Heritage Christian Academy in Kalamazoo. She also taught at Factoryville Christian school when it opened.Lois loved teaching.She was very passionate about children's ministries and enjoyed sharing Biblical knowledge through junior churh at Factoryville and Yankee Springs. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Diane)Johnson of Bartlesville,OK, Cindy (Bill) Gehm of Amarillo, TX, Jean (Spencer) Russell of Marshall,Krag (Carrie) Johnson of Kokomo, IN and Athens, MI and Jeff Johnson of Bartlesville, OK; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
