Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are well known and highly respected residents of the community living on the farm at the north edge of village. He is a member of the Lake Odessa school board and is a rural mail carrier. It is a strange coincidence that the fatal accident occurred after he returned from his first trip around his mail route with the new car. Funeral services were held from the home with only the immediate relatives present. Out of respect for the sorrowing family and for the little ones who had come to so untimely an end, the entire business district of the village closed during the hour of the funeral. Words of comfort and consolation were spoken by Rev. O. F. Bulman as he stood beside the single casket that held the remains of the four little ones and conducted the graveside ceremony as the casket was lowered into the grave in beautiful Lakeside cemetery which is the final resting place for the four little bodies.
