Ionia County News, 7 Sep 1944

George Alfred Johnson died in Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, Tuesday,
September 5, following a week of illness.  He was 51 years old.  A veteran of
World War I, Mr. Johnson was employed in the P.M. shops in Ionia for many years
and, more recently, had worked in Detroit.

He is survived by three sisters, and three brothers: Mrs. Charles Fosdick and
Mrs. Roger Frieze, both of Three Rivers; Mrs. E. Anderson, Raymond and Charles
Johnson, Ionia, and Albert Johnson, of Sparta.

Service will be from Stone Funeral Home, Thursday afternoon, with burial in
North Plains cemetery.
