Ionia County News, 6 Jun 1929

Another long-time resident of Hubbardston has passed into the great beyond. 
Harriet Schoomaker, born Feb. 7, 1853, in Port Byson, Cayuga county, New York,
and died at her home here June 1, after a long period of suffering.  She came
here a young girl with her parents, was married Feb. 14, 1872 to Richard M.
Johnson; three children were born to this union, two, a son and a daughter,
besides the husband, having preceded her in death.  She is survived by one son,
Harry L., of Detroit, two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Tabor, and Mrs. Warren Sharp, both
residing here; two grandchildren, Boyd Chapman, of Lansing, and Lloyd Richard
Johnson of Detroit, also three great grandchildren.  She united with the M.E.
church here in 1919 and kept the faith until death claimed her.  Funeral
services were at the house Monday, Rev. Floyd N. Drake officiating.  Burial in
West side cemetery.
