Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Huffman Funeral
Home for Mrs. Mary Melissa Johnson, 80, of 221 East Congress Street.  Rev.
Luther Brokaw will officiate.  Interment will be at Bowne Mennonite Cemetery in
Ionia County.

Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville.  She was born
August 3, 1888 in Campbell township the daughter of George D. and Hester A.
(Drew) King.  Mrs. Johnson was a member of United Methodist Church and Smyrna
Extension Club.

She was married to Axel Johnson on June 9, 1904 at Elmdale.  He preceded her in
death in 1957.

Survivors include a son Harold V. Johnson of Belding, six grandchildren and
several great-grandchildren.  Another son Clair G. Johnson died at High River,
Canada.

The family has requested that there be no flowers.  Contributions may be made to
the United Methodist Church, Belding.
