Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Jul 1971

Nelson L. Johnson, 51, of 409 ½ West Main, died Sunday at Sparrow hospital in
Lansing after being a patient since Friday evening.  He was born in Bay City,
January 31, 1920, moving to Carson City as an infant and lived there most of his
life until ten years ago when he came to Ionia.  He was employed at General Tire
company of Ionia.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Johnson of Ionia; four sisters, Mrs. Theone
Barrett of Hubbardston, Mrs. Lucille Griswold of Ionia, Mrs. Melva Blair of
Flint and Mrs. Betty Braendle of Bay City; two brothers, Wesley of Cedar Spring
and Guy of St. Johns.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Burns Schnepp funeral home in
Carson City and interment will be at Crystal cemetery.
