He was born January 10, 1890, near Edmore and lived most of his life in this section of the country until January, 1939, when he removed to the southern states where he had since resided and done considerable traveling. Johnson was a World War veteran and served in the United States navy for approximately 10 years. Survivors include two brothers, Guy, of Vanderbilt, and William of Karen, and one sister, Mrs. Conrad Brigham of Ionia. Rev. Gunther officiated at the rites and burial was in the family lot at River Ridge cemetery.
