Ronald Warren Johnston, 78, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, 
February 1, 2014.  He was born on November 13, 1935 in Ionia, MI the son of 
Gerald and Leona (Bennett) Johnston. 

Mr. Johnston was the owner and operator of Tony's Crystal Flash in Ionia for 30 
years, and kept it a close family operation over that time.  After retirement, 
he drove for Dial-A-Ride for 12 years.  Ronald took pride in his service to the 
Lord, and served in various positions as a Sunday school teacher, music teacher 
and Deacon.  He loved to play his guitar and sing, fishing, and watching the 
Detroit Tigers on television.  Family was very important to Ronald, and he 
enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great 
grandchildren.  Ronald also loved to frequent ice cream and coffee shops, and 
watch old time movies. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Gerald Johnston Jr.  
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Beverly Johnston; children, Ronald (Laura) 
Johnston, Christine (Rod) Galloway, Becky (Bill) Wagner, and Greg (Karen) 
Johnston; grandchildren, Staci Wagner, Andy (Alisha) Galloway, Stephanie 
Wagner, Amber Galloway, Tori Johnston, and Abby Johnston; great grandchildren, 
Dalton Galloway and Lilliana Johnston; siblings, Gordon Johnston and Natalie 
Witter; many beloved nieces and nephews. 

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 
Zion United Methodist Church, Ionia, with Pastor Cliff Allen and Pastor Richard 
Helderop presiding.  Interment will take place in the spring at Easton Township 
Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, 
February 4, 2014 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia.  In Lieu of 
Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald Johnston Fund, in 
memory of Ron.
