JOHNSTON
Betty J. Johnston, age 81, of Saranac, passed away March 26, 2020 in Saranac. 
She was born June 1, 1938 in Jellico, Tennessee, the daughter of Edward and 
Laura Hatfield. Betty married Walter Lee Johnston, July 7, 1956. He  passed 
away June 22, 2015.

Betty is survived by her daughters Mary Rivers of Ionia, Tina Johnston of 
Ionia, Cindy (Harold) Williford of Fenwick and Bobbie Jo Johnston and fiance' 
Don Melchert of Saranac; grandchildren, Don Williford, Kenny (Jessica) 
Williford, Laura Campbell, Allen (Kathy) Adams and Zack Johnston of Saranac; 
great-grandchildren, Tayden, Mackenzie, Aaron, Bronson, Aaron, and Hunter and 
sisters, Edna Priest of Ionia and Rosie (Gene) Byrns of Belding.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Carl, Clifford 
ad Lester and one sister, Elsie.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. , Saturday, July 18, 2020 at  
Saranac Community Church in Saranac with Pastor Becky Poor Officiating. 
Visitation will be Friday 4-6 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Online
