Johnston died of a heart attack at his home at 925 S. Pleasant street Tuesday afternoon. He and Mrs. Johnston were in the yard at the time and were going to the garage to drive out with the car when death came to him. He was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Johnston, August 6th, 1883, in Arenac county. He had lived in this city 30 years and had operated an oil station east of the city and later one at Cooks Corners, until his health failed. He is survived by his wife, Pearl, and two step-daughters, Mrs. Harold Edgett, of Jackson, and Helena Jenks of New York, N.Y.; one brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o’clock at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home. Rev. H.S. Ellis will officiate and burial will be in River Ridge cemetery. Those chosen for pallbearers are Lee Heliker, Emory Hawley, George McGahan, Lyle Chatterton, Fletcher Howell and Erwin Smith.
