The death of Mrs. Catherine Jonas aged 80 years, widow of the late Matthias 
Jonas, took place at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Donner, Thursday 
morning at 5:30 o’clock.  Mrs. Jonas had been in her usual health up to the 
time of her death, which was caused by an attack of heart failure.  The funeral 
was held on Saturday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic church at Miriam, Rev. 
Fr. John A. Click, officiating and burial was made in the cemetery there, by 
the side of her husband, who died 4 years ago last March.  Mrs. Jonas was a 
pioneer resident in the Miriam settlement having lived there for more than 54 
years.  Surviving her are two sons, Alfred Jonas of this place and Charles 
Jonas and Mrs. William Donner, living in the Miriam district, south of the city.
