Charles Jonas, 67 years of age, passed away Sunday afternoon at the local
hospital where he had been ill for about seven weeks.  He is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Ralph Gasper and a son, Carl, of Miriam, and a brother, Alfred
Jonas of this city; a sister, Mrs. Charles Donner, of Ionia, and seven
grandchildren.  Mrs. Jonas was born in Keene township July 5, 1871 and lived all
his life there.  The rosary was recited at the farm home Tuesday evening at 8:30
with Rev. Fr. Kelly leading.  Funeral services were held at 9 o’clock Wednesday
morning at St. Mary’s church, Miriam and burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery. 
Rev. Fr. Ralph Kelly officiated.  Pallbearers included Leonard Feuerstein,
Anthony Schneider, Charles Krieger, Ferd Breimayer, Henry Zahm and Michael Andres.
