Ionia County News, 1 Jun 1939

Funeral services for Charles Jonas, 68, who died late Sunday night at the
Belding city hospital, were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Miriam,
Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock, Rev. Ralph Kelly, pastor of the St. Joseph’s
Catholic church of Belding, officiating, and burial was in the Miriam Catholic
cemetery, beside his wife, who died twenty years ago.

Charles Jonas who was born July 5, 1871, in Green township, Michigan, was the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Jonas, who were born in Germany.

Survivors are one son, Carl Jonas, one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Gasper, and one
brother, Alfred Jonas of Belding, one sister, Mrs. Charles Donner of Ionia, and
seven grandchildren.
