Harvey Jones, Northeast of Muir, Victim of Storm Late Monday Afternoon. During an electrical storm which came up about noon Monday, Harvey Jones, a well known farmer who lived on the Jacob Shult farm, five miles northeast of Muir, for several years, was struck by lightning and instantly killed. He and a son were drawing in hay when the storm came up. They drove on the barn floor with their load, unhitched the horses, and had just finished unharnessing them in the stable when he was struck. His clothing and shoes were torn to shreds, but the boy and the horses were not hurt. Mr. Jones still held the bridle in his hand when help arrived, and it is thought that he was in the act of hanging it up when he was struck. One corner of the barn was shattered.
