Kathleen L. Jones, 71, of Portland, died on Wednesday in Lansing.  She was 
born in Collins on February 20, 1921, the daughter of Samuel and Mable Dorin 
Burman.

She was a member of the Portland First Congregational United Church of Christ; 
a member of the Congregational Guild; and former member of the Portland 
Literary Club.  She served on the Portland Library Board.  She was active in 
United Way and the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her husband Guy; her sister Muriel Burman of Portland; her 
nephew Emmett Watson; and her grand nephew Jordan of Portland.  She was 
preceded in death by her son Keith.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Neller Chapel, Portland, with 
the Rev. Robert C. Nixon officiating.  Burial will be in the Portland 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral chapel Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.; 
and Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to  9 p.m.  Casket bearers will 
be Joel Wildrom, John Clarey, Richard Willemin, Robert Overholt, Keith Pline, 
and Clyde Pulling.  Honorary bearers will be Glendon Archer and Kenneth Day.  
Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society and the 
Congregational Church, in care of the funeral chapel.
