Bob was born on March 15, 1963 in Lakeview, the son of Richard and Betty (Cory) Jones. He graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1981 and then proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years, seeing action in the Persian Gulf War. Following his discharge from the Army, Bob later owned several automotive related businesses in Belding. He was a member of the American Legion in Saranac and of the VFW Post 4406 in Belding. Bob had a love of country, family and friends and was always willing to help. He will be greatly missed. He was married on April 26, 1997 to Tammy Hovinga and she survives along with their children, Kristina Jones of Belding, Stacey Jones of Grandville, Ryan and Chelsie Heath and Jason Heath all of Belding. Bob is also survived by five grandchildren, Jaden, Keirstin, Paityn, Karleigh and Braylon; his father, Richard Jones; his brothers and sisters, Teri and Randy Smalley, Richard Jones, Renee and Brian Antcliff Paul and Vergie Jones, William and Marie Abbatoy, Karen and Bill Smith, Paulette Abbatoy and Jane Getts. Bob was preceded by his mother, Betty in 1991. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Full military honors will be given at the funeral by the honor guard of Belding VFW Post 4406. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Following the funeral cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be given to the wishes of the family.
