Jones, widow of Stephen P. Jones, of Palo, who died at the home of her son, C. Ney Jones, of Bushnell, Sunday were held Tuesday afternoon from the home in Palo and later from the Palo Methodist church with Rev. Drake conducting the services. Music was offered by the church choir. Burial was at Palo cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Ronald township, June 3, 1863. In 1881 she was united in marriage with Stephen P. Jones. Her entire life with the exception of 12 years, when she and Mr. Jones kept the Newark store, north of Middleton, has been spent in the Palo community. For several years they lived on the Jones farm two miles north and east of Palo, and her later years were spent in the village of Palo. Mr. and Mrs. Jones became members of the Palo Methodist church in 1896, and had continued to be active members. Mr. Jones died in 1930. Surviving are her son Ney, of Bushnell; three brothers, Herbert, Frank, and Roy Wright, all living near Palo; five grandchildre and one great-grandchild.
