The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 15, 1942


Mrs. Ida B. Jones, 86, died early Monday morning at the home of her 
granddaughter, Mrs. Ivan Hewitt, of Saranac.  She had been ill for three 
weeks.  A native of New York state, she was born March 7, 1856, and has spent 
the past 30 years in Saranac.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jess Fosburg of Grand Rapids and Mrs. 
Otis Whitey of Saranac; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Herrick of Portland, Oregon; 
seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Hewitt home in Saranac on Wednesday 
afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Rev. Glass will officiate and burial will be in 
Saranac cemetery.
