John C. Jones, 78, of Greenville, formerly of Belding, passed away Tuesday, 
August 24, 2004 at the home of his granddaughter, Wendy and Mark Lehman, with 
his family at his side.  He was born February 8, 1926 in Jellico, Tenn., the 
son of Ledford and Maggie Jeffers Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda, in 1994; and 
brothers, Virgil and William Jones.  He is survived by daughters and sons-in-
law, Cathy and Ron Stephens of Greenville, Margie and Jeff Adams of Gowen, 
Diane and Dale Heether of Barryton, Nancy and Joseph Murphy of Ionia; several 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Virgie Haverstick, Jean Lay; 
and brother, Billy Jones.

At his wishes there will be no service or visitation.  Private burial is in 
Rest Haven Memory Gardens.  Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, 
Greenville.
