Arthur Jones, 72, a resident of this vicinity and Orleans for more than 50
years, passed away at the local hospital last week after a long illness with a
heart ailment.  He was born April 18, 1875, and moved to Orleans when he retired
from farming about four years ago.  He was married to Ida Wright June 5, 1897,
and the family sponsored a celebration in honor of their 50th wedding
anniversary last year.

Besides the widow he leaves one daughter, Mrs. George Miller, RFD 2, and three
sons, Ormand and Lyle of Orleans and Alfred of Greenville; one sister, Mrs. Cora
Stillwell, of Ionia; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home, Rev.
H.S. Ellis officiating, and burial was in Green cemetery.

The funeral for Arthur Jones was held at 2:30 Monday afternoon from Fitzjohn
funeral chapel in Belding.  Bearers were Ernest Robinson, Duane Willis, Carl and
Jay Olmstead, Ernest Leach and Frank Hale.  Interment was in Greene cemetery,
with H. S. Ellis officiating.
