Jackie L. “Jack” Jones, 70, of Belding, passed away Tuesday evening, May 13, 
2014 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice.  
Jack was born on March 10, 1944 in Ionia, the son of Virgil and Helen (King) 
Jones.  He was a member of the Belding Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM, in earlier 
years owned the Belding Café and Bakery in the Covered Village Mall.  He 
enjoyed woodworking and playing guitar.  Jack will be greatly missed by his 
family and friends.  Jack married Lynda Faye Sheckells on August 19, 1965 in 
North Carolina. 

He is loved and survived by his wife Lynda and their children; Charles Jones of 
Texas, Jeff (Dorothy) Jones of Battle Creek and Connie Jones of Grand Rapids, 
his grandchildren; Jacob, Jennifer, Amanda, Jared, Shayla, Matthew, Alexandria 
and Elizabeth, his brothers and sisters; Richard Jones of Howard City, Nina 
Chubb of Mt. Pleasant, Jasper Smith of VA, Charlotte Watson (Tom) of NC, Ricky 
Smith of VA, Randy Smith of NC and Debbie Kennon of NC.  Jack was preceded in 
death by his parents, his second mother Maxine Jones and one brother Donald. 

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at Shiloh Community 
Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before 
the service at the church.  Private inurnment will be in Greene Cemetery, 
Belding.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Shiloh Community Church 
or charity of one’s choice.  Envelopes will be available at the church or at 
Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care and cremation 
services have been entrusted.
