Peggy was born on August 19, 1921 in Ionia, the daughter of William H. and May (Walker) Erridge. Peggy graduated from Ionia High School with the Class of 1938 and in earlier years worked at Mitchell Bentley in Ionia and later owned the Ionia News Agency. She was a long time member of St. John the Apostle Episcopal Church, Ionia where she had the honor of being the oldest member of the church. Peg and her husband Joe were also involved with the Ionia Hunting and Fishing Club, she had a lifelong love of all sports and participated in softball, golf, bowling and archery. She managed the ladies softball team and served as catcher. She is loved and survived by her son; James W. Jones and (Marcia McCoy), daughter- in-law; Kathleen G. Jones all of Ionia, grandchildren; Julianne (Ron) Klumpp, Amy (Mark) Almond, Andy Jones and Bill (Becky) Jones, great grandchildren; Ryan, Jonathan, Ethan, J.T. Klumpp, Daniel, Chris, Colleen Almond, Cloie, Caiden, Annelise and Payson Jones, and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Sally Jo in infancy, brother; William, husband; Joseph L., and son: Joseph M. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014 at St. John the Apostle Episcopal Church, Ionia with Father John Kirkman presiding. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Private Committal Prayers will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia. In lieu of flowers, please consider Memorials to St. John the Apostle Episcopal Church, Disabled American Veterans or Ionia Area Hospice.
