He had been ill for one and a half months. He was born in Lakeview, Michigan, on May 3, 1890, the son of Oren Jones and Cynthia Thomas. He was a retired grinder in the Belding Foundry. He was a World War I veteran and spent one year overseas in France and Germany, for the U.S. Army. He married Zella F. Brimmer on August 12, 1931 in Belding. Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter, Mrs. Chester (Leona) Burns of Belding; one son, Donald of Belding; one step-son, Lyle Badge of Belding; one sister, Mrs. Ella Johnson of Belding; one brother, Cecil of Mecosta County; one half brother, Rollo Jurden of Mecosta County; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, at the Huffman funeral home in Belding, with Rev. Lester Tice officiating. Interment will be in the Otisco cemetery.
