Mildred C. Jones, 99, of Belding died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 at Foote Hospital
in Jackson.  She was born May 21, 1898 in Edmore, the daughter of Chris and
Christine Hansen.

She was a former member of the Blue Star Mothers, and a life member of the
Rebecca Lodge of Stanton, and a former member of the Belding Church of Christ. 
She was married Dec. 24, 1918 in Grand Rapids to Orman L. Jones.

She is survived by one son, Merton of Belding; four grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Merton
Hansen of Blanchard.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Orman in 1974;
one daughter, Joyce Chickering in 1957, one daughter-in-law, Virginia Jones in
1986, and one brother, Todd Hansen in 1996.

Private family funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson
Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment will be in Rest
Haven Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the
funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
