L. Jones had died Wednesday night at 12 o’clock. Although Mrs. Jones had been in poor health for a long time, no one expected the end to come so soon. Her mind has been bad and required a woman’s care for the past winter. She also had trouble with her heart. On Wednesday she went to the Lepard division meeting of the M. E. Aid society held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lapo. She seemed to enjoy the meeting with these ladies and when they closed their meeting they sang “God Be With You ‘Till We Meet Again” after which Mrs. Jones said, “I cannot sing but I can pray” and then offered a splendid prayer. Many of the ladies spoke of the incident and it has occurred to them as a fitting closing of her life as she remarked upon leaving that she hoped that all might meet again where there would be no sorrow. For many years Mrs. Jones was an active member of the Methodist church here and in her younger days was a splendid chaperone for groups of girls at a summer’s outing. She was a loyal member of the W.C.T.U. for years and several who had no home were taken by Mr. and Mrs. Jones and treated as an own daughter. Besides a husband she leaves a son at St. Louis, Missouri who recently underwent a serious operation. The funeral will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the M. E. Church.
