George E. Jorae, age 68, of Ionia passed away Oct. 27, 2007 in Ionia.  He was 
born Feb. 26, 1939 in Laingsburg the son of Gerald and Beatrice (Motz) Jorae. 
George married Frances Bissell Nov. 11, 1961 in Pewamo, Mich. He was a member 
of the National Guard. He owned and operated Commercial Cleaning in Ionia and 
previously was a Dairy Farmer for 20 years.

George is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Frances Jorae of Ionia; 
children Elizabeth Jorae of Lansing, Mary (Brad) Hulander of Ionia, Bruce 
Jorae of Ionia, Michele (Tim) Kirby of Ionia, Melinda (Scott) Spurgeon of 
Florida, Sheila Jorae of Ionia, Sarah (Scott) Shattuck of Lyons and Brian 
Jorae of Ionia; brother, James (Jenny) Jorae of St. Johns; sister, Christine 
(Nick) Kurnzz of St. Johns; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Oliver and one 
granddaughter Chelsey.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday at SS Peter & 
Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Melvin Fox celebrant. Interment Easton 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 
to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with a scripture service at 8 p.m. 
In lieu of flowers you may make a memorial contribution to George's family.
