A Loyal Christian Taken Home

Mrs. Birney Jordan, who had been a sufferer for several months from rheumatism, 
passed to her eternal home last week Tuesday evening.  She was a loyal 
Christian, beloved by all her friends and ever ready to do a kindness.

She died at her home with her husband and son at her bedside.  She had doctored 
for her trouble and although better at times, the poison in the blood brought 
the final results.

Obituary

Lucy Wineland Jordan, youngest daughter of Jacob B. and Sarah Ann Wineland, was 
born October 11, 1872 at Webster, Ohio, and died at the age of 48 years, 9 
months and 22 days.

The mother died while she was yet a child and she lived near Webster until 24 
years of age, when she came to Michigan to live.

She was married to Birney A. Jordan Dec. 31, 1898.  To them was born one son, 
Cleve Russel Jordan.
In the spring of 1899 she and her husband moved to Gladwin County and settled 
on the farm which was their home until 1911, when they moved onto the farm near 
Lake Odessa where they have lived since.

Her general health was good until about three months ago when she was taken 
with rheumatism from which she was a great sufferer until the end came Tuesday.

Early in life she united with the United Brethren church and has been a 
faithful member since.

By her death she leaves to mourn a husband, one son, a brother, two sisters and 
a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral was held in the First U.B. church, Lake Odessa, August 4, at 2 
p.m.  Interment at Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. C. H. Zuse officiating.
