Ionia Sentinel Standard - Jan. 8, 1975


Gladys Jordan, 81, 528 South Cass, Hastings, died late Tuesday morning at the 
Barry County Medical Care facility where she had been a patient for the past 
three months. 

Born August 2, 1893 in Woodland Township, she was a daughter of Fred L. and 
Juna Katherman Jordan, and graduated from Woodland high school.

She was employed in Woodland before going to Washington D.C. where she worked 
during World War I. She later was employed by Sears-Roebuck in Chicago for 
forty years as head of the accounting department, returning to Hastings in 1970.

She was a life long member of the Lake Odessa Order of Eastern Star Chapter 
315, and a member of Woodland United Methodist church.

Surviving is one brother, Carl Jordan of Woodland.

She is at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa where services will 
be Thursday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Kenneth Vaught of Hope United Methodist church 
of Hastings officiating.
