Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, July 5, 1900

Wellington A. Jordan, 38, who has been such a terrible sufferer for so many 
years with rheumatism, died at the hospital at Battle Creek on Thursday last. 
Funeral and burial Sunday afternoon at Battle Creek under the supervision of 
the Maccabees, of which he was an honorary member. It hardly seems possible for 
a young man to have had more friends that did Mr. Jordan. No one ever tried 
harder to provide for his family than he did. Working when every move brought 
pain and suffering, yet he labored on without complaining long after he could 
not walk. He leaves besides a wife, three children to mourn the loss of a most 
devoted and faithful husband and father. The deceased was a member of the Palo 
Baptist church.
