Former Clarksville Resident Passes Away

Ray J. Jordan, 85, of Grand Rapids, former Clarksville resident passed away 
early Wednesday morning at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, where he was 
hospitalized four weeks.

He was born at Clarksville, February 10, 1890, the son of Joseph and Clara 
(Kline) Jordan.

Mr. Jordan married Beatrice Dillenbach, in Ionia, July 222, 1913 and had resided 
in Grand Rapids the last 51 years.

He was a former employee of the C & O railroad and was employed by the Grand 
Rapids Steelcase Company, retiring in 1961.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Ethridge of Spokane, 
Wash., Mrs. George (EvaBelle) Ollebeck, Miss Lois Jordan and Mrs. Ted (Dorothy) 
Proctor, all of Grand Rapids; five sons, Richard, Harold, Donald and Lee of 
Grand Rapids and Kenneth of Anaheim, California, 22 grandchildren, 17 great 
grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ila Fedewa of Detroit. 

Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops funeral Chapel at 
Clarksville. Rev. Wesley Samuelson officiated with burial in the Clarksville 
Cemetery.
