          MRS. DAYTON JORDAN PASSED AWAY DEC. 27
                                      -------------
        FAITHFUL MEMBER OF ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH.  
           WAS A PIONEER OF WOODLAND TOWNSHIP.
                                       ------------
   Mrs. Dayton Jordan passed away at her home in North Woodland, December 27, after
an illness of six 
weeks, during which time she was cared for by her daughter Mrs. Al Laird of Battle
Creek.
   Mrs. Jordan has lived in North Woodland for the last 62 years, coming from Adrian
with her parents Mr. and 
Mrs. Conrad Schmalzried at the age of 12 years.
   Mr. and Mrs. Jordan celebrated their golden wedding eight years ago last July.
   In the passing of Mrs. Jordan the family loses a loving christian mother, her
friends and neighbors a true 
friend and the Zion Lutheran church and Aid society a faithful member.
   The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Buboltz of Lansing at the home
Saturday afternoon.  Burial 
was at Lakeside cemetery.
