Daily Sentinel-Standard - Monday, Aug. 28, 1939

Word was received in Ionia Monday morning by relatives of the death of E.L. 
Jordan, 69, of Muskegon, formerly of Ionia, who died Sunday, August 27, at the 
St. Joseph hospital at Lexington, Ky., where he submitted to a major operation 
three weeks ago.

Mr. Jordan was born in Ionia and lived here during his youth. He has several 
relatives in Ionia among them are M. Clyde Stout, a brother-in-law and George 
L. Johnson and Chauncey Jordan, cousins. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a son, 
William F. Jordan of Grand Rapids: a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Thompson of North 
Muskegon and a brother, H.H. Jordan of Grand Rapids. Another daughter, Alice, 
preceded him in death.

The body will be brought to Grand Rapids Tuesday where funeral services will be 
held from the Greenhoe funeral home Thursday afternoon, August 31, at 2 o'clock.

Mr. and Mrs. M. Clyde Stout and daughter, Mary, will leave Ionia Tuesday and 
remain for the funeral.
