Jorgensen, 63, of 155 E. Main died Wednesday in Ionia County Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1917, in Edmore, the son of John and Georgianna (Gideon) Jorgensen. he attended school in Palo and worked as a farm hand until entering the service during World War II. He served in the Aleutian Islands in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, he returned to Ionia. He married Marjorie E. Wines in Belding in 1954. They have made their home in Ionia ever since. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Post 28 and chaplain of the American Legion Post in Belding. He is survived by his wife; one son, John of Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Fancett of Sheridan and Mrs. Dorothy Spence of Ionia; and five grandchildren. One sister, Francis, preceded him in death in 1975. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Leddick Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Dow of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
