Joslyn, 85 of Ionia died Friday morning January 2, 2009 at his home under the loving care of his family and Heartland Hospice. Jack was born November 29, 1923 in Ionia the son of Hazen P. and Grace Castle Joslyn. Jack proudly served his country during World War II with the 1007 Army Special Service Engineers in Burma and India. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and worked the family farm since 1972. He was married on August 1, 1949 in Coldwater, Michigan to Beverly Lyle and she preceded him in 2006. He was also preceded by his parents and one granddaughter, Laine Hedley. Jack is survived by his children Mary Adams of Trinidad ,TX, Lucy and Doug Hedley of Lansing, Grace and Howard Brownell of Ionia, and Lyle Joslyn of Ionia. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his sister, Helen Salzman of Belding and his brother, Robert Joslyn of Ionia. In keeping with his wishes no services or visitation will take place. Interment will be in Orleans Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Heifer International (www.heifer.org), a charitable organization that gives farm animals to families in poor and under developed countries, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202.
