Joslyn, 74, former Ionian, died early Thursday morning at the soldier home in Grand Rapids where he has made his home for the past five years. He had been in ill health since Christmas time. He was born May 2, 1876, in Bay county, Michigan, the son of Ed(last part of name illegible) and Elepha Corbin Joslyn who came to Bay county from New York. He moved to Easton township in 1880 and since that time he has made his home in this vicinity. He was a painter and paper-hanger by trade. He served in Santiago, Cuba in the Spanish-American war in Co. 1, 34th Michigan volunteers under Capt. Frank D. Curtis. He was a member of the Capt. Frank D.(illegible word) Post No. 56 SWV. Surviving are a brother, Clyde Joslyn and a sister, Mrs. Linda J. Castle, both of Ionia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the stone funeral home. Interment will be in Easton cemetery.
