Mrs. James Jourdan died very suddenly at her home in Orange township last Thursday morning at about 11:00 o’clock, of heart trouble. She had been in poor health for some time but her condition appeared to be decidedly improved Thursday and she left her bed. She was lying on the couch and conversing with those about her a few moments before death came. Mrs. Jourdan, whose maiden name was Miss Lydia Jane Price, was born in Wayne county, O., March 28, 1845, and came to Michigan in 1860. Six years later she was united in marriage to James Jourdan and the couple have made the Orange farm their home since that time. Besides the husband Mrs. Jourdan is survived by three daughters and two sons, who are George L. Jourdan, Mrs. Edgar Davenport, Ionia, Mrs. Leon Bromberg, Vermontville, Chauncey and Miss Veda Jourdan, residing at home. Funeral services were held at the late home Sunday morning at 11:00 o’clock conducted by Rev. E. B. Griffin, a U.B. minister of Angola, Ind., and interment was made in Portland cemetery. Mrs. Jourdan leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her sudden demise.
